The Acoustic/Songwriter Stage at Boise Music Festival 2016
There are so many great and talented local musicians playing at the Acoustic/Songwriter stage during this year's Boise Music Festival! Here's an in-depth look at the artists performing this year!
Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Andrew Hove will be the first artist to take the stage, performing at 11 AM. Hove fronted a 90s-rock cover band, a Blink-182 cover band and a Billboard's Top 40 cover band and played independently as well. Now a permanent resident of Boise, Idaho, Hove plays music around the Treasure Valley.
Playing at 12 PM at the Acoustic/Songwriter stage, Darian Renee received critical acclaim for her independently distributed and self-produced pop album "The Other Side of Someday" in 2014 and will play several songs off that release during her Boise Music Festival set!
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, the group Other Feather will be taking the stage at 1:10 PM. The act is influenced by artists such as Joanna Newsom, Andrew Bird and Neutral Milk Hotel.
Performing at the Acoustic/Songwriter stage at 2:15 PM, One Smart Feller met living in Eugene, Oregon. Even though they've only been together as a band for several months, their sound is both unique and atmospheric.
Bernie Reilly has been influenced by the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Neil Young and during his childhood he studied classical cello and soon left that behind to play rock and roll. Reilly takes the Acoustic/Songwriter stage at 3:20 PM.
A composer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Boise, Idaho, Thomas Paul takes the stage at 4:25 PM. Paul plays a diverse range of different genres, from garage rock to lounge blues and his talents are demonstrated on vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard, mandolin and accordion. Sean Hatton takes the Acoustic/Songwriter stage at 5:30 PM.
A songwriter since childhood, Heather Platts brings her talents to the Boise Music Festival at 6:35 PM. Platts earned a degree in Music Composition from the University of Idaho and traveled from Idaho to Nashville, Tennessee in 2015 to work with guitarist, songwriter and music producer Michael Miller, who has worked with artists such as Paul McCartney and Kenny Loggins.
The final group to take the Acoustic/Songwriter stage is First Chair, who are performing at 7:40 PM. The duo from Boise, Idaho consists of melodic blues-inspired vocals, piano and drums and they just released their first EP, "Weights of the World".
