Whether you know him from his solo work, various collaborations with iconic artists like Santana, Mick Jagger, and Willie Nelson, or as the front man of Matchbox Twenty – you know Rob Thomas. As one of modern music’s most compelling and commercially successful artists for almost two decades, Rob Thomas has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide.

For an artist like Rob that has had sustained success on a level like he has, it’s still all about the creative process. “I’m a guy who hears songs in his head, and I have to write them down, and I have to get them out. I’m just lucky enough that I can make it my life’s work,” Rob says.

Rob Thomas has written numerous chart-toppers for Matchbox Twenty, including “Push,” “3 AM,” “If You’re Gone,” “Bent,” “Disease,” and “Unwell,” not to mention other huge hits like “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” “Mad Season,” and “Bright Lights.”

Not many artists can have worldwide success with a band, solo career, and collaborative hits on top of it all. In 1999, Rob earned three Grammy Awards for his hit collaboration “Smooth” with Santana.

Rob Thomas has won numerous songwriter awards, including the “Starlight Award” from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004, and Songwriter of the Year from both Billboard and BMI for two consecutive years.

Rob’s solo career took off with his historic #1, multi-platinum album “…SOMETHING TO BE,” which was the first album by a male artist from a rock or pop group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the 50-year history of the chart. “…SOMETHING TO BE” earned two Grammy nominations and is full of hit singles including “Lonely No More,” “This is How a Heart Breaks,” “Ever The Same,” and “Streetcorner Symphony.”

Since the launch of his solo career, Rob has released two more albums with Matchbox Twenty, numerous hit singles, a second solo album (with another on the way), and numerous shows around the world. We’re so ecstatic to have Rob bring his catalog of hits and new material to the #2015bmf Commercial Tire Main Stage!
